The Leesburg Police Department is a sixteen-man, progressive Law Enforcement agency that crosses seven thresholds of diversity within its current ranks. The Department is led by Chief Christopher J. Prokesh who is a Lifetime Leesburg, Lee County Resident and Alumni, having served with the Leesburg Police since 1997. The Police Department serves both the citizens of Leesburg Georgia and the Lee County School System with a combined day-time service population of approximately 15,000 citizens, students, and faculty with a focused emphasis on Community-Oriented Policing (“C.O.P.”).

The Leesburg Police Department has initiated a School Zone Safety Program called RedSpeed in order to enforce speed limits in School Zones and improve the safety of school children. Please see the flyer attached below or click on the link to the video for more information.

If you have received a RedSpeed / School Zone ticket, follow the directions on the ticket for payment options. If you have LOST your ticket, they will send you a SECOND notice in the mail. Please do not call City Hall to inquire about RedSpeed tickets. These tickets CANNOT be paid at City Hall. City Hall does not have access to the ticket unless you contest it with RedSpeed. Please contact them directly at 1-833-360-4346 or fill out the coupon on the back of the ticket to contest it. If contested, you will receive a notice with a scheduled court date with the Leesburg Municipal Court. You may pay the ticket by calling them directly Or click RedSpeed to pay online.
